Allow me to introduce myself…
I like to think of myself as a “Communications Consultant and Inclusive Storyteller.” I have held many communications-focused roles, from Director of Communications for a startup to Account Manager at one of the top 5 Global Public Relations firms in the world. I have provided communications and PR support for Fortune 500 companies such as AT&T, Chase, and most recently, Southwest Airlines. Throughout my career, I’ve gained experience in strategic communications, media relations, social media strategy, influencer marketing, and crisis communications.
Here are a few “fun facts” to get to know me better!
My favorite season is summer. My birthday is in July, so as a summer baby, this was my destiny. I love the heat (even here in Texas, where it gets over 100 degrees). But nothing beats sunny skies and a beach when I can get to one! 🌞
Most people don’t know that I can play the piano. I took lessons at a young age, and I really enjoyed it. I’m not sure why I stopped, but I still sometimes play for fun (I find it therapeutic). I would love to take lessons again in the future. 🎹
My guilty pleasure is makeup. I probably own more makeup than the average girl needs!. I love watching makeup tutorials on YouTube. I’ve been a Sephora VIB member for as long as I can remember. The irony is that I usually keep my makeup pretty natural. 💄
I’m afraid of heights, specifically flying. I will admit that I’ve gotten a bit better over the past few years as I’ve traveled quite a bit, but my nerves still get the best of me as I’m boarding a flight. I know all the statistics say it’s safer than driving, but I have yet to have someone explain to me how an aluminum tube weighing several tons can stay in the air. But I love to travel, so I suck it up. God certainly has a sense of humor, because I now work for an airline. LOL ✈️
If I weren’t a Communicator, I would probably own a clothing boutique. I’ve always enjoyed fashion, and it would be fun to style people. A close second would be a corporate attorney. I’ve always considered going to law school, I even got accepted, but decided to pursue my MBA instead. 👗⚖️
“My goal is to be better today than the day I was before. I strive for progress, not perfection.”
